Types of oil skimmers
According to the mechanism of operation of the oil skimmer, this device is classified. An important criterion for classifying oil skimmers is the method of collecting oil on water. Below we briefly present the following models:
- Oil rope skimmer
- Floating oil skimmer
- Oil skimmer hose
- Belt Oil Skimmer
- Oil Disc Skimmer
- Oil Skimmer on the Stock Market
- Oil skimmer drum
- D-shaped oil skimmer

Belt Oil Skimmer
As the name of this device suggests, it uses a metal strip in the form of a belt to clean water. The surface of this belt is capable of absorbing oil, gasoline, diesel fuel, grease and hydrocarbons. The method of operation of the oil skimmer belt is that after throwing it into the water, the belt starts working and gradually absorbs oil and petroleum products. The belt oil scraper mechanism extracts hydrocarbons .
After the entire surface of the belt is covered with oil and dirt, the belt is fed into the machine and through the cleaning blades inside it, all dirt and oily materials are removed from its surface and, if necessary, the belt starts working again. The name of the oil-absorbing substance on this belt is elofil.
Oil Disc Skimmer
This device is an inexpensive way to remove oils from the surface of water. This type of oil skimmer has disc plates that are used in the oil collection process. Once the operation starts, the discs begin to rotate and collect layers of oil and oil-containing materials from the surface of the water.

Why do we use oil skimmer in wastewater treatment?
Nowadays, wastewater treatment is largely automated. After the physical separation of oil in oil and grease traps or demulsifying tanks, this also leads to the need for automatic degreasing. With the help of an oil skimmer, floating oil can be easily transported to barrels or other receiving points, from where it can be taken to final disposal or recycling, regardless of the needs of the organization. This mechanism is equipped with either an independent or basket plate, followed by an oil pan to facilitate weighing and removal of the oil. These mechanical oil skimmers consume much less energy – a maximum of 350 watts. The design of the tank and skimming mechanism meets the customer’s requirements SS 304/316. These products contain Teflon belt and polypropylene rollers, which avoids the effects of aggressive chemicals. These oil skimmers work flawlessly in all areas of application, whether it is workshop oil or table oil. We at Eco-Care are able to provide these services based on customer requirements and site analysis, and we do this to ensure that the solution purchased in this way is of greater value to our customers. Depending on the size, these skimmers have an oil recovery capacity of 4.5 to 8.5 liters.
Water and Wastewater Treatment and the Importance of Oil Skimmer
Modern times have brought us the problem of ever increasing pollution which has made even groundwater unusable in its raw form. This has forced people and industries to look for a solution on how to utilize this water. Eco-Care Instruments Pvt Limited specializes in such challenges and offers its clients solutions to utilize groundwater for their needs such as drinking water or purified water. We install sand filters, activated carbon filters, cartridge filters, ultra filters, reverse osmosis plants and demineralization plants as per the requirements of the clients. These can be made of various construction materials as per the requirements of the clients.
We also take a step further in the field of wastewater management and treatment as per customer requirements for product quality. These treatment methods are available for both wastewater discharges and industrial discharges consisting of workshop wastewater. We have launched STP and ETP for our esteemed customers. These are provided strictly as per the requirements set jointly by us and our customers. We use a partner approach in such solutions where customer need for recognition is key. Here we help our customers to identify their needs and thus offer solutions based on the data obtained. These plants can be manufactured with two types of manual and automatic control. In water and wastewater treatment, surface oil collection is very important and oil absorption is very helpful in the subsequent stages of treatment.
Equipment for solid-liquid separation
This is the case in wastewater treatment, where efficient solid-liquid separation eliminates the problem of unwanted loads in subsequent treatment plants arranged in series. An efficient solid-liquid separation system is the basis of modern wastewater and water treatment.
- Cartridge filters have different filtering capacities depending on the particle size.
- Manual and automatic filter press.
- Centrifuges with various loading and mechanization mechanisms.
- Screw presses with fully automatic function
Eco-Care specializes not only in selection but also in assistance in continuous operation, providing consumables and spare parts that these machines require from time to time. We also conduct pilot laboratory studies on sludge separation to determine the appropriate cutting speed and choice of chemicals before selling the solution to the customer.

Oil and Gas Leak Control
Our extensive product line includes oil spill skimmers, industrial skimmers, distributed spray systems and spill response tanks. Our products cover the full range of collection, containment and storage applications required by emergency response teams, industrial companies and first responders.
Possibilities
The company is uniquely positioned to partner with utilities to develop site-specific response plans. Not only do we have the experience, training, and track record of working with clients to prepare these plans, but we also offer our experience and certifications for these types of events if you need a real response.
The company has a wide range of products:
- Robust containment equipment and inflatable booms can be quickly transported to the spill site and quickly deployed to contain oil spills.
- Once the oil has been applied to the fabric, it can be burned off or removed using scrapers specially designed for the situation.
- A full range of absorbents, liners and wraps are available to contain small spills or as a finish to remove residue.
- Dispersants, which break down oil into smaller, finer, more biodegradable particles. Dispersants do not remove oil, but they do help absorb it.
